The divorce suit filed by the wife of flamboyant Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Anita, has, expectedly, sparked sustained interest. The divorce “with Suit No FD14D01650, was filed on April 9, 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, UK, Anita’s lawyers, Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors. Anita is accusing her husband of infidelity, among other things. The news that Anita and Chris could not cope with the strains that hit their once paradise-in-the-moon matrimony broke early this year. Many who regarded the couple as an item suddenly began to see less of them together. While the news was on, the super rich pastor, with the curly-haired mane, moved to debunk it. It was observed that during the time of the issue became public, Pastor Chris alleged removed, and later replaced the picture of Anita on the church’s devotional pamphlet, Rhapsody of realities. At some point, Pastor Chris was reported to have visited the London, UK chapter of Christ Embassy, where he admonished members perceived to have taken side with his wife. He was purported to have told members at the London church that Anita was always “bitter”, ambitious and had made friends unbecoming a pastor’s wife. Below is a statement credited to Pastor Chris. “Bitterness is prolonged and accumulated anger. My wife is always angry and bitter,” “Some pastors’ wives think when they marry a pastor, they are equal to the pastor. My wife thinks so. As a matter of fact, Rev. Tom was her pastor before I married her and Rev. Ray and Evang. Owase were her leaders long before I married her. How come she thinks she’s senior to them now? “I already started Christ Embassy before I married her. I didn’t marry her and said we should start Christ Embassy. I was already ‘pastoring.’ I already set my sail and knew my direction before I married her. I only said ‘come and help me.’ “Be careful of the friends you keep. My wife keeps friends who bring out the worst in her and help her see the worst in people, instead of keeping friends that will help her vision, especially as the wife of a global pastor like me.” Pastor Oyakhilome is the President of the Believers Love World, a.k.a Christ Embassy, while his wife, Anita, is the vice president and manages the London branch of the church, located on North Woolwich, London. The couple had between them two teenage daughters, Sharon and Charlyn.
