Former Prime Minister of Turkey, Tayyip Erdogan, has been sworn-in as the country's new President during a ceremony in Ankara, the country's capital.
He took the oath of office today, ushering in a new dispensation. Erdogan, 60, is expected to push for a new constitution and seek to further transform the country with developmental projects.
The president has made it clear that he wants to wield genuine executive powers, unlike his predecessors who performed ceremonial roles.
Heads of state from Eastern Europe, Africa, Central Asia and the Middle-East, attended the ceremony.
