About 50 Boko Haram insurgents were killed following a raid by the federal troops on some of their hideouts on Saturday, says the Nigerian Defence Headquarters. The Army high command said in a tweet that the insurgents planned to attack Konduga before they were killed. “Over 50 terrorists died this afternoon as troops raided their hideout in Kawuri before setting out on a planned attack on Konduga,” Defence Headquarters tweeted. DHQ also disclosed that one Fabricated Artillery Gun, two Anti-Aircraft guns, an armoured vehicle and assorted types of ammunition were captured in the process. “Some hardware, weapons, food items and personal belongings were also destroyed in the Kawuri Raid,” it said. The Military also reported that an officer and two soldiers were wounded in the operation.
