Governor Ibikunle Amosun has promised to build and deliver a 'New City' in Ogun State by October, which he said was part of his campaign promises. The governor told indigenes of Itori, in Ewekoro Local Government Area during his assessment tour. He said the New City would cut across the three local council areas of Ogun Central Senatorial District, namely Obafemi/Owode; Ifo, and Ewekoro. "When we were campaigning, we promised that we will develop Ogun State, you can see what we have been doing so far, we can't do everything at once, as we speak, we are going to do two roads here in the Local |Government,’’ Governor Amosun said.
On the model school being built by his administration in the area, Amosun said it "is almost ready, God willing by November, our children will resume there and I will invite all our traditional rulers and everybody to come and witness the commissioning of the model school.’’ The governor also disclosed that another airport, aside from the one planned for Ikenne Town during the last administration would soon commence flight operations. "The airport around here will commence simultaneously with the other one, no one will disturb the other, all the arrangement have been concluded and we have gotten the approval and within the next 2-3 years, we will all see it, it was not us that started it, it has been there since time immemorial,’’ the governor said. He also promised that all the ten wards in the Local Government would benefit from the administration. Governor Amosun thanked former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for doing the Abeokuta- Lagos road and promised to revisit it, if re-elected.
