Faustino Asprilla, former Newcastle and Colombia striker, has confirmed he will be launching a line of condoms in Colombia. The striker has revealed that production of his own line of condoms is already underway in China. The condoms, slated to be on sale in Colombia initially, will be sold under the brand name "Tino".
“I think it’s a really cool idea, “ he said. “They’ll hopefully be launched with a campaign to prevent unplanned teenage pregnancies,” the former striker was quoted as saying on a radio show. The condoms will come in all sizes and in a variety of flavours. “I’ll recommend the guava flavour condom,” Asprilla added. “When I was growing up, we had a guava tree in our garden and that’s a flavour and aroma that’s very good for romancing.” Asprilla, who rejected a lucrative offer from an Italian company to feature in one of its films last year, said the main intention behind the condom brand is to encourage “healthy sexual habits”.Asprilla has maintained a busy business profile since retiring from professional football in 2009. He has been working setting up an academy in his home country of Colombia, with links to Newcastle, as well as building a portfolio of real estate farming land.
