An unnamed elderly woman was found to have contracted the Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, as a patient in Good Heart Hospital, in Rivers State. She was treated by the same doctor, Iyke Enemuo, who treated a Nigerian ECOWAS staff, Koye Olu-Ibukun, earlier infected with the virus. Following Olu-Ibukun’s admission to the hospital, the latest case and two others a doctor and a pharmacist — were isolated and quarantined. They both tested negative. Moreover, Health officials in the state have said the two would still undergo another round of tests.
Enemuo died last week of the virus, while his wife has also tested positive to it.
