Giroud Signs New £80,000-a-week Contract At Arsenal

French striker Olivier Giroud has signed a new £80,000-a-week contract at Arsenal that will keep him at the Emirates until 2018.

The deal is a two-year extension on Giroud’s current contract and will be announced soon by the club.

Giroud is currently sidelined as he recovers from surgery after suffering a broken left tibia in the 2-2 draw at Everton in August.

The 28-year-old is into his third season with Arsenal after joining from Montpellier in a deal worth around £10million.

Arsene Wenger was quick to boost his attacking options in the summer, bringing in Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona for £30m and Danny Welbeck from Manchester United in a £16m deal.

Arsenal face Galatasaray in the Champions League at the Emirates Stadium this week looking to bounce back from their defeat by Borussia Dortmund on Match Day one.
