The Executive Chairman of IGI Group, Remi Olowude has finally lost the battle he fought with prostrate cancer after being in coma since last week in the United States of America, USA.
Olowude has been in this agonizing battle with prostrate cancer for several years, but he finally lost the battle as he was snatched by the cold hands of death Saturday.
He died at about 11:30 pm Nigerian time, 3:30 pm American time. The insurance mogul, whose health had deteriorated in the past years, was first rumoured to be bed-ridden in 2013 but the report was desperately denied by his media aides.
Close aides of the Oluwudes said at a time, that his health had deteriorated badly that the heavily built frame of the insurance mogul had emancipated so drastically.
Just as his health status had for years remained a matter of speculations, his death on Saturday was also concealed before it was revealed by a family member.
As at the time of filing this report, no official confirmation has been mad either by the family or the company.
Olowude started IGI Plc in 1992 after leaving NICON Insurance Plc.
