Umaru Fintiri, today, emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,for the 11 October governorship by-election.
The Acting Governor polled 624 votes to secure the ticket of the party.
Other contesters comprising Dr. Ahmed Modibo and the former Lagos State Administrato, Breg. Gen. Buba Marwa polled 197 and 54 votes respectively
Dr. Umar Ardo scored nine votes, while Mr. Jerry Kumdisi could only pick four votes.
Demeji Bankole who presided over over the electiont said that 24 of the total votes were invalid. He declared Umaru Fintiri as the winner of the primary.
The party election held at the Lamido Cinema Jimeta, began at about 9.45pm yesterday night and ended at about 4.13am today (Sunday).
