The Nigeria Police, Delta State Command, has vowed to improve on the ‘measures’ that enabled it arrest 58 suspects and rescue seven kidnap victims in the last two months. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, a deputy superintendent of police, said that three of the suspected kidnappers sustained injuries after engaging the Police in a gun duel. The other suspects, Kalu, said were arrested for armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism among other crimes.
“Within the two months under review, Delta State Police Command has continued to deliver on its mandate of prevention of crime by reducing crime wave to the barest minimum through the robust crime preventive and fighting measures put in place,” Kalu said.
The Police added that it recovered six English made rifles, 31 locally made guns, 53 ammunitions and 12 stolen vehicles from the criminals during the reviewed period.
