School Resumption: Non Availability Of Ebola Testing Kits In Kaduna Schools

All schools in Kaduna State  resumed Monday, in compliance with the Federal Government’s directive that schools should re-open for classes on 22 September, without adequate provision for Ebola testing  kits.

Although the state government on Saturday promised to provide Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, test kits for public and private schools ahead off the resumption date, some public and private schools in the capital said they were yet to get the materials.

At Government Day Secondary, Doka, in Kaduna North Local Government Area, two thermometers were provided for both students and teachers, while management said it was yet to get the wash hand basins, sanitisers and hand gloves.

It was a similar scenario at other schools in the state.
