Governor Bala James Ngilari of Adamawa State Monday morning approved the appointment of 11 people that will help move the troubled state forward.
The appointees are: Ibrahim Andrew Welye as Secretary to the State Government; Prof. George Moses as Deputy Chief of Staff; Abdulrahman Bobboi as the Chief of Protocol.
Others appointees are: Dr. Ujulu Amos, Personal Physician to the Governor; Usman Hamidu Maiha, Auditor-General; Ibrahim Iya Gurin, acting State Auditor-General; Usman Buka, Coordinator Millennium Development Goals; Dauda Belo Furo, Executive Chairman, ADSUBEB; Mr. P.P. Elisha, Director of Press; Ambrose Abasu, Personal Assistant to the Governor and Maxwell Duku, who will serve as the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
Meanwhile, immediate past acting governor of the state, Ahmadu Fintiri, has formally resumed as the Speaker of Adamawa State House of Assembly. Speaking at the state House of Assembly on Tuesday, Fintiri said that “The legislature, which is the defender of democracy,” is required to exercise the constitutional duty of ridding Adamawa of bad governance once again without hesitation.”
Fintiri stated this during the plenary session on Tuesday, when he addressed members of the state House of Assembly on his resumption as Speaker.
Fintiri, who presided over the day’s plenary, expressed gratitude to the members, “As I happily resume my duties as the Honourable Speaker once again, after a brief but action-packed stint as the acting Governor of Adamawa State, I thank Honourable colleagues for the overwhelming co-operation I have enjoyed as your ambassador in the executive arm,” he said.
