Secretary to the government, Aminu Hamayo, and the Chief of Staff, Government House, Abdulkadir Mohammed were among the eight senior officials of Bauchi State who resigned from the cabinet to pursue their political aspirations. Others include commissioners Abubakar Fago (Local Government Affairs); Isa Wabu (Agriculture); Bappah Azare ( Water Resources); Tasiu Mohammed (Environment); Sani Bura (Works and Transport) and Mohammed Lassi (Tourism and Culture). In Hamayo’s place, though in acting capacity, is Mahmood Maijama, while Tanko Dutse is the new Chief of Staff, Government House. The new appointees have held positions as Finance and Economic Development, and Agriculture Commissioners during the state Governor Isa Yuguda’s first tenure of office. A statement issued through the Principal Private Secretary, Adamu Alkali, on Monday, confirmed the resignations of the erstwhile state officials; announced the new appointments and directed the departing officials to handover to their next senior persons or the permanent secretaries in their various ministries. Yugudu, Alkali said, acknowledged their services to the state, wished the men well.
