Ex-Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Jonathan Akpoborie has charged the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF saddled with the responsibility of hiring coaches for Nigeria’s football team to do a thorough job by appointing a competent coach to continue from where sacked coach, Stephen Keshi stopped.
Shuaibu Amodu was on Thursday named as temporary coach of the Eagles after Keshi was relieved of his duties pending the appointment of a foreign coach and Akpoborie believes only the best coach should be hired.
“NFF must bring a foreign coach with class, a top quality coach, a big name and established coach who has knowledge of African football and who is ready to develop the game in the country,” said the VFB Stuttgart of Germany forward. He said he expects such a coach to bring in a better culture to the team and get young and talented players into the team. the former Julius Berger of Lagos State goal poacher said the Eagles soared high under Clemens Westerhof and Jo Bonfrere because they brought Dutch football philosophy to the team and they stuck to it.
