I Don’t Have Ebola – Essien

Former Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder Michael Essien has refutted rumour that he has contracted the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease, EVD. A story of he having the virus surfaced on twitter yesterday. But Essien said ‘I’m very fit and very healthy.’ on his  Instagram. The Ghanian said there is ‘‘No truth in the internet rumours that I have contracted Ebola, ‘I’m well & will be training as usual tomorrow (today).” Essien warned that “The Ebola virus is a very serious issue and people shouldn’t joke about it, whoever wrote this article is very unprofessional and insensitive, Jahbless.” Similarly, Essien on the microblogging site, twitter, said rather than trivialise the menace of the virus, advised that ‘‘The true victims of Ebola deserve better and our thoughts & prayers are with them and their families.’’ His club, AC Milan also denied the rumour.  A statement from the club said it “categorically denies alleged news from abroad about its members, such news, totally unfounded, however, have never been confirmed by any employee of our company.’’
