President Goodluck Jonathan is set to meet the deadline given by his party for the purchase of presidential nomination form. Jonathan is the sole presidential candidate of his party after its governors and its National Working Committee, NWC, adopted him as so. The party, last week, set a final date for the procurement of the form, after which the President Jonathan decided to set up a committee for his declaration.
Related to this are party members who have contributed N98 million to purchase the presidential form for the president. A statement by the president's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, said the amount was a donation from 38 donors comprising individuals, groups and communities.
Jonathan is expected to arrive Wadata Plaza, the party's secretariat later today, to pick the N22 million PDP's Expression of Interest form.
