Jonathan To Host Falcons 5 Nov.

President Goodluck Jonathan will on 5 November in Abuja play host to the Super Falcons of Nigeria, who won the African Women Championship, AWC, for a record seventh time in Namibia, last Saturday.

The Falcons defeated their Cameroonian counterparts 2-0 to reclaim the trophy they relinquished two years ago and upon presenting the trophy to the President Wednesday in Abuja, he said he was going to fete them.

According to him “I want to welcome you girls from Namibia for doing us proud and winning the trophy for a record seven times, you have done well and I promise that, as a nation, we will always celebrate you, I am only receiving this trophy from you today (Wednesday) but I will host you girls on 5 November.” Nigeria is now one of the three countries that will represent Africa at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada, Cameroon and Ivory Coast are the other two.
