Wounded American reporter working for Associated Press, Kathy Gannon, has vowed to return to troubled Afghanistan where her arm had been shattered by a volley of bullets from a policeman while covering the presidential election last April. While Gannon survived the assault, her colleague Anja Niedringhaus did not. She died. Niedringhaus was a Pulitzer Prize winner who had covered conflicts in Bosnia and Afghanistan for more than 20 years. Gannon said a "crazy gunman' will not determine her future.
