The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ekiti State has accused former Governor Kayode Fayemi of spending N4 billion on planting of flowers in the state during his tenure.
The party through its Publicity Secretary, Kola Oluwawole berated Fayemi’s administration for spending so much on the project under the guise of beatification without anything to show for it.
According to Oluwawole “In a state like ours, which is agrarian, nearly N4 billion was spent by Fayemi’s government on the planting of flowers in Ado-Ekiti, while farmers were left to their fate, we can all see how terribly that project ended.”
He also faulted Fayemi’s administration for allegedly plunging the state into huge debt, which according to the PDP has remained unparalleled in the history of the state.
The PDP image maker equally lambasted the erstwhile governor for his alleged mismanagement of the state resources.
The party said it is not surprised by the huge debt left behind by Fayemi’s administration , adding that such has become the trait of those who tagged themselves progressives who had ruled the state at one time or the other.
