Police Arrest Three Suspected Cultists In Delta

The Police in Delta State have arrested three suspected cultists who breached public peace during a protest over a colleague's death. The suspects, among others at large, are thought to be members of the Vikings Confraternity. The deceased, named Oghale, a.k.a China, was said to have been dumped in a hospital in Ozoro, Delta State, by two suspected members of his gang, but died shortly of gun wounds. Policemen of the Ozoro division, on investigation, visited the hospital and discovered an ammunition in tugged in the deceased’s pocket, fuelling speculation that he might have been involved in a gun duel.

Oghale, the Police say, is a notorious armed robber and cultist who had been on their wanted list. He was alleged to always rape his victims and had terrorised the community until his death. While some people in the community rejoiced on hearing he had been killed, his gang members planned mayhem by taking to the street in protest.

Delta Police Command spokesperson, Celestina Kalu, a deputy superintendent, confirmed and said the incident was being investigated. Kalu also said the arrested gang members would be prosecuted.
