The President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, GCFR on Thursday congratulated the newly elected President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick on his ascendancy, and assured that the Federal Government would afford even more support to football in Nigeria.

You have indeed been Nigeria’s football number one supporter for several years now, we remember Your Excellency’s tremendous efforts, then as Vice-president, to ensure that Nigeria hosted the FIFA U-17 World Cup finals in 2009. Since then, Your Excellency has never looked back.”
Pinnick also praised the support and understanding of the Honourable Minister/Chairman, National Sports Commission, NSC, Dr. Tamuno Danagogo and the Director General, NSC, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye.
