Kebbi PDP Crisis Worsens, As Speaker, Deputy, Others Set To Quit Party

The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kebbi State, assumed a new dimension with the resignation of the Speaker, Aminu Jega, his deputy, and other principal officers of the state House of Assembly from their positions.

Jega reportedly announced their decision on Thursday. He is the second most senior official of the Kebbi State government, after the deputy governor, said to be nursing plans to quit the party. Jega was said to have complained of being ill-treated by the PDP and concluded plans to move to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
