Ogun APC Crisis: Osoba, Others, Can’t Hold Us To Ransom – Lai Mohammed

Having expressed shock over the exit of former Ogun State governor, Olusegun Osoba, incumbent deputy governor, Segun Adesegun, the state’s senate and House of Representatives members from its fold, the All Progressives Congress, APC, national leadership said nobody could hold it to ransom. The crisis of confidence between the defectors, believed to be loyalists of Osoba, and Governor Ibikunle Amosun, climaxed with the formers’ dumping the party for the Social Democratic Party, SDP. A statement by APC National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, said their defection might cause the party some troubles though, “we will go back to the drawing board to re-strategize and redouble our efforts to retain the state in 2015.” Mohammed stated that “Every member of our party is important to its overall success, but none is more important than the party. Against this background, no member can hold the party to ransom.” The party said it was wrong to project the party would fail in next year’s election because of the defectors, however their self-importance.
