er’s inclusion in the contest, which already has five other contenders, is purported to be a masterstroke by some influential party leaders to resolving the apparently stalemated consensus arrangement proposed to the contenders. A former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari; ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar; Imo, Kano States Governors, Rochas Okorocha and Rabiu Kwankwanso, and publisher of the Leadership newspapers, Sam Nda-Isaiah are in the race.

Imam Imam, Tambuwal’s media aide told Premium Times friends and political associates of the speaker bought the form for him. Tambuwal’s move, as Newsbreak.ng learnt, is favoured a prominent National Leader of the party, Tinubu.

Tambuwal defected recently from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP – on which platform he was elected into, and became Speaker of, the House of Representatives. He has since been feuding with the PDP over the withdrawal of his security detail and to move to remove him as speaker.
