Manchester City defender, Yaya Toure, suffered a racial attack after he tweeted he was back on Twitter, on Monday evening. Toure said: "Great to be back on twitter after a good win yesterday. Now my focus is on the next game... Happy Monday everyone!!" But within hours, Toure received racial messages on his handle @yayatoure. He drew sympathy from an anti-discrimination group, Kick It Out, KIO, which called on the Police to investigate the offending messages. KIO tweeted: "NEWS: We are informing the Police of racist tweets directed @yayatoure earlier this evening and offer him our full support #kickitout."
The 31-year old Ivorian suffered a similar attack last season during City’s Champions League game at CSKA Moscow, in which the former won 2-1.
