Boko Haram: Military Restricts Vehicular Movement In Borno For Christmas

The Nigerian military, on Tuesday, restricted vehicular movement in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, to prevent any security breach.

A statement signed by the Army Public Relations Officer, Headquarters of the 7 Division, the Nigerian Army, Maiduguri, Colonel Sani Usman, said the Boko Haram was making a concerted effort to unleash terror on some parts of Borno State, particularly in the Maiduguri metropolis, during the Christmas celebration.

The Borno military formation said it took the decision in agreement with the Borno State government and other security agencies. The restriction starts from 6pm on Wednesday, December 24, and ends 7am on Sunday, December 28, 2014. Those on essential services, such as medical services, fire service and the media are excluded, but must show on-duty authorisation their establishments.
