A policeman was gunned down Sunday at Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State, by men suspected to be cultists. Also killed was a certain Gift, who was suspected to belong to a rival cult group, known as Greenlander. The assailants were said to have shot their victims at close range.
A similar incident, in which 10 people died, happened two days ago at
Omoku, in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local council area of the state.
Reacting to the killings the Rivers State Police Command vowed to arrest the all perpetrators of the act, though some arrests have been made.
Ahmad Muhammad, a Deputy Superintendent and Public Relations Officer, Rivers Command, said 25 persons were arrested.
