A federal judge, Ayo Emmanuel, Monday directed the Inspector General of Police, Sulaiman Abba, to investigate alleged criminal offences by paramount Oyo monarch, Alaafin Lamidi Adeyemi.

Court records showed no defence was raised since the suit was registered on 7 July, 2014, and heard three times [on 6 October, 29 November and, 4 December]
Alaafin's Chief Press Secretary, Azeez Fehintola, said the ruling was strange and that the monarch was unaware of it.
