Charles Ashton, 83, risks spending some time in jail for fondling a dead woman’s breasts before a funeral service. Ashton, a funeral director and chairman of Castleford Rugby League Football Club, admitted he kissed the woman and touched her breasts before the service, according to Daily Mail.
Ashton, the report says, admitted he had sexually assaulted the corpse in August, during a hearing at Leeds Magistrates' Court. He was also said to have made inappropriate comments about the size of her breasts.
The prosecutor, Robert Campbell, narrated to the court how the incident happened.
Campbell said: “There was a funeral about to take place and they were in a room when the complainant asked the defendant to sit down.
'As she did that he put his arm around her, kissed her on two occasions and fondled her breasts. He had also made inappropriate remarks about the size of her breasts.”
The magistrate adjourned sentencing for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and told Ashton he could face jail for the offence.
