The National Bureau of Statistics on Sunday said the country’s trade statistics recorded a N359.6bn or 5.4 per cent drop in merchandize trade from N6.65tn to N6.29tn. In its report, NBS attributed drop to dwindle in exports and imports value for the third quarter. The report said exports fell by N202.7bn or 4.3 per cent to N4.47tn, and imports slid from N157bn or 7.9 per cent to N1.82tn.

Despite  the vagaries,  the report says, Nigeria’s balance of trade is favourable at N2.65tn.
