Nigerian military authorities has kept mum over purported abduction of over 20 girls by Islamist terror group, Boko Haram, in Lassa town, Borno State. There has been no word either denying or confirming the story, which SaharaReporters broke. The online newspaper claimed that old men and women were part of the people the sect killed during the attack. The newspaper said a local, Daniel Ibrahim, told it that the terrorist repeatedly advanced on Lassa since last November, but were repelled by local vigilantes. The vigilantes were eventually overwhelmed by the superior weaponry used by the terrorists. SaharaReporters also claimed a senior military confirmed the attack on the town.
