The Lagos State special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, has swooped on a man, Olorunto Dipe, 35, suspected to be dealing in human parts’. The suspect was reported to have revealed to the police how he bought a human head in Cotonou, Benin Republic, at N12,500 and hoped to sell it for N20,000 in Nigeria.
Dipe, the police said, was arrested at Ajibawo in Atan-Ota, Ogun State, last October and has been under rigorous interrogation to unravel if he was acting alone or had accomplices.
Dipe told the police that “one Asiwaju at Ado Odo-Ota in Ogun State, asked me to bring a human head. He said he would use it to cure me of leprosy. I went to Cotonou and bought it for N12,500 with intention of selling it for N20,000 to him. I was arrested with the head as I wanted to go and deliver it.” The investigating police team quickly arrested, and, later, released Asiwaju, who denied not knowing Dipe. But Dipe stood his ground, alleging Asiwaju was his accomplice.
In a report by Nation, Dipe pleaded with the police to release him, promising never to return to the strange trade.
