Commissioner of Police for Kaduna State, Umar Shehu, has confirmed the killing of 10 people on Saturday night in the state. The victims were killed by gunmen in Tattaura Village during a post-Christmas celebration. Aside the dead, four others were said to have sustained gun injuries.
A local pastor Mike Maikarfi told journalists on Sunday that, “The attack took place at 10:12 p.m. while Christmas celebration was going on in the community.”
He added: “The attack took place in a shop where some men were relaxing. Tattaura community celebrated their Christmas yesterday night (Saturday) with dances by youths, children and adults,”
Maikarfi said the injured were taken to a hospital in Akwanga, Nasarawa State, because of its proximity to the village. The cleric named the dead as Joel Ambo, Misalai Ngbo, Ishaya Anche, Yakubu Ambi and Yamu Idzi. Others are Anche Ishaku, Monday Samson, Joel Anzah, Jonathan Anche and a young man popularly known as P – Square.
