PPA LogoThe Progressive People’s Alliance, PPA, has said its doors are open to Ebonyi State Governor Martins Elechi, while it also discountenanced an earlier statement attacking the governor. In a statement Tuesday by its National Chairman, Peter Ameh, PPA dissociated itself from the earlier release by one of its members, Samuel Udeogu, titled, “Why we don’t want Gov Elechi”. Ameh said the release was “unaltered, reckless and unauthorized” and contravened Article 12 of its constitution. The party said Udeogu could not speak for it and have asked him explained why he should not be disciplined. The party said the offending release “was authored by those who do not mean well for the development of the State and Eboyians in general.” Ameh urged people to disregard it. There are rumours the governor is planning to defect to the party after his humiliation during the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, delegate elections and subsequent loss of influence.
