The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Lai Mohammed has stated that the party’s presidential primaries slated for Tuesday was moved to Lagos State from Abuja as a result of security challenge.
Mohammed said the change in venue was based on neutrality, accommodation availability and security concerns. He said Jos, Plateau State, which was central enough was not chosen because of security concerns, adding that the party took a deliberate decision to ensure that the states of the aspirants contending were not chosen.
Mohammed said 8,000 delegates are expected to converge in Lagos for the primaries.
Five presidential aspirants, Atiku Abubakar, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), Sam Nda-Isaiah, Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and Governor Rochas Okorocha are scheduled to vie for the presidential ticket of the party.
