Abia Govt Accuses Opposition Of Buying PVC

An allegation has been made that opposition political parties are buying permanent voters cards, PVC, in some part of Abia State. Anthony Agbazuere, the state’s commissioner for information and strategy, addressed a press conference Thursday, in which he said the unnamed opposition parties “go from house to house in parts of the state to buy permanent voter cards from people for cloning purposes”. Agbazuere urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to carry out an investigation to unearth the purported incident.

He admonished citizens of the state not to sell their voter cards. “Your voter card is your power, anyone offering you money to buy your card wants to rob you of your voting right and must be resisted,” the commissioner said.
