BBC Launches Award In Honour Of Ex-Presenter Komla Dumor

The British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, has announced an award in honour of its former presenter, Komla Dumor, who died a year ago, aged 41.

The BBC said the award, titled ‘BBC World News Komla Dumor Award’, will be given to “outstanding individual living and working in Africa, who combines strong journalism skills and an exceptional talent in telling African stories, with the ambition and potential to become a star of the future.”

The BBC said it will use the award to “invest in the future of African journalism by offering the winner the chance to come to the BBC and share Africa's stories with the world.” The winner, it said,  will work with teams across BBC News during a three month placement in London.
