Fire Guts Odua Investment’s ‘Heritage Mall’ In Ibadan

The section occupied by Film House within the expansive Heritage Mall in Dugbe area of Ibadan, Oyo State, was razed on Saturday. The cause of the fire in the part of facility, which also accommodates popular retail chain, Shoprite is, was unknown. The property is owned by Odua Investment Company Limited. According to Victor Ayetoro, the Corporate Affairs Manager of Odua Investment Company Limited, the fire was put out by men of the Oyo State Fire Service with the assistance of the Central Bank of Nigeria and Sweetco Fire services.
“All the four sections of the Film House were gutted by the fire. It was the securitymen nearby that raised the alarm and called some of the workers of the Film House who had since gone home after close of work by 11pm. There was no way the staff could make it to the mall because it happened late in the night. The security alerted the Mall Chief Security Officer who immediately called the fire service of Oyo State," he said.
Ayetoro confirmed the destruction of property worth millions of naira to the inferno.
