Opeyemi Bamidele,Labour Party candidate for Ekiti State in last year's governorship election, has concluded arrangements for his return to the All Progressives Congress, which he quit over disagreement with the immediate past governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, and other leaders of the party. A newsbreak.ng source, who was a high-ranking official in Fayemi’s cabinet, confirmed the move. Bamidele, Friday, met with the party’s national leader and former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu in the latter’s Lagos residence, where the matter of his defection was ironed out. Opeyemi was accompanied to the meeting by a slew of the party’s leaders, including the deputy national chairman and former Ekiti State governor, Segun Oni, and Bishop Gabriel Oloniyo.
Bamidele, at the parley, declared his readiness to work for the party’s success in next month’s presidential election. Our source said he was also given a task to mobilise his supporters for Saturday’s presidential rally of the party in Ado-Ekiti- the capital of Ekiti State.
