President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign was troubled Tuesday in Katsina State, as some suspected thugs hurled stones at his convoy. The incident happened during Jonathan’s visit to former President Umaru Yar’Adua’s mother, Hajiya Dada. The thugs reportedly braved the security restraint to surge at the president’s entourage, waving brooms and chanting “Sai Buhari”. Having been repelled by Jonathan’s security guards, who shot tear gas canisters at them at the Yar’Adua’s family house, the thugs, unrelenting, regrouped thereafter. They were said to have waited along Jonathan’s way to the airport to continue their assaults. The president was accompanied by his deputy, Namadi Sambo, Kastina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema, and the PDP national chairman, Adamu Muazu.
