Federal Capital Territory Minister, Bala Mohammed, has traced his persistent vilification by his state governor, Isa Yuguda, to his avowal at ensuring the then vice president Goodluck Jonathan became president. Mohammed also recounted his mother’s and relatives’ near-death encounter and the burning of his two-storey house by thugs protesting Jonathan’s candidature during the turbulent presidential election of 2011. All these the minister gave as evidences of the negative politics against him in Bauchi State, to which he implicitly believed Yuguda is responsible. Mohammed also wondered why Yuguda alleged he [Mohammed] masterminded the attack on President Jonathan while campaigning in the state. “It is simply irrational for Governor Yuguda to allege that the minister hired thugs to stone and embarrass himself (minister) while addressing the presidential rally in his home state,” Mohammed stated. The minister said Yuguda’s allegation confirmed insinutation he is working for the All Progressives Congress. “By this claim, Yuguda has proven correct the allegation that he has been hobnobbing with the APC at night and running with the PDP in daytime.” The minister justified his claims about Yuguda being a mole in the PDP. “Many Nigerians still remember recent media reports that Yuguda is the real godfather and sponsor of the APC governorship candidate in Bauchi State and that he has not been campaigning for President Jonathan’s re-election in the state. Again, history is there to expose the governor as an unabashed fifth columnist in the PDP,” he stated.
