Idowu Obasa, speaker, Lagos state house of assembly, said Jimi Agbaje, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate for the state should not have approached the election petitions tribunal. He said this while reacting to the Appeal Court judgement that affirmed the return of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as the winner of the poll.
"The verdicts of both the Election Petitions Tribunal and the Appeal Court are clear indications that the PDP and its candidate ought not to have challenged the results of the election in the first place because they were beaten fair and square," Obasa said.

Obasa said the ruling further confirms Ambode and APC deserved the victory they got at the governorship poll.
