Katsina State governor, Alhaji Aminu Masari of Katsina State, has inaugurated four committees to probe activities of certain government departments and agencies in the state during the tenure of his predecessor, Alhaji Ibrahim Shema.
The agencies and departments to be probed include the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Department of Girl-child Education, Katsina State Road Maintenance Agency (KASROMA) and Millennium Development Goals (MDG/SURE-P).
While inaugurating the committees on Monday, Masari instructed them to verify locations of as well as the extent of work done on projects or programmes carried out by the affected agencies between 2011 and 2015.
The governor instructed them determine whether or not monies allocated to such projects and programmes were prudently used.
He emphasised that the probe was not conceived as a witch-hunt, but to assist the administration to build more robust state institutions.
