Manchester United are staking £60 million for Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller, Independent UK quoted a report in Germany. The report say Man Utd made an offer of €85million, which when converted at current exchange rate amount the said price. Man Utd coach, Louis van Gaal, made Muller a key part of his Bayern team during his time as the latter’s handler between 2009 and 2011. Muller and Gaal seemed to have an affection for eachother, a pointer to the former describing in the latter in 2010 as “a genius technician”, who makes players “improve every time”.
Muller has a contract until 2019 at Bayern, but United would be able to double his current wage to something around €10million-a-year (around £135,000-a-week), previous reports have stated.
Muller was substituted 22 times in matches by Pep Guardiola last season, more than any other player in the squad.
