The Ademuluyi Royal Family, one of the four ruling houses in Ile-Ife, has narrowed the search for a successor to late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, to a veteran journalist, Adekanmi Ademulyi and 15 other princes.
Some of the princes are AdenekanAdemiluyi, AdekunleAdemiluyi, AdegboyegaAdemiluyi, Adefemi Ademiluyi and Ademola David Ademiluyi. Others are AdetunjiAdemiluyi, Adetumbi Ademiluyi, Vincent Adetunji Ademiluyi, Adebunmi Ademiluyi, Adeniyi Ademiluyi and Abiodun Ademiluyi. Also are Abiodun Ademiluyi Adegbola, Adebowale Ademiluyi, Adepoju Ademiluyi and Adeoye Ademiluyi.
The royal family from Lafogido ruling house said the contest was thrown open following a meeting the family held on 20 August, 2015. The family said the 16 contestants have been confirmed to be from male children, as those of the female descendants are forbidden from vying for the stool.
The statement added the contestants will obtain nomination forms “from the Lawarikan of Apoje, Prince AdemolaAdemiluyi in Ile-Ife, the Secretary of the family, Prince AdebamboAdemiluyi who is resident in Lagos and on the website of the family, www.ademiluyifamilyfoundation.org”.
