Reports say governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at a Thursday meeting asked its national working committee to respond to corruption allegations against them. Workers of the party recently accused the committee members of embezzling party funds said to be in billions of naira. The report published by Saturday PUNCH said the meeting held in the official residence of the Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, who is chairman, PDP Governors’ Forum. The NWC members, also at the meeting, were also queried on why the party’s national executive council, NEC, meeting has not been called since the last general election, in which the party suffered heavy electoral loses. The NWC members reportedly told the governors they are plans to hold the NEC and board of trustees meeting soon.
