A new record of power generation has been set. The country, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), the country has attained the new record by generating 4,810.7MW of electricity.
Signed by the Managing Director, System/Market Operation of TCN, Dipak Sarma, the statement declared that the success was achieved on 25 August and attributed it to the contributions of the gas, generation and distribution companies as well as the TCN.
The statement quoted Mr. Paul Stefiszyn, TCN’s Managing Director, as saying: “The Federal Government has been supportive in coordinating the activities of the sector across the value chain.’’
It added that the sector is seeking to achieve a target of 5,000MW within a short time.
