Abiodun Olarewaju, the university’s public relations officer, in a statement Thursday revealed the University of Lagos and University of Ilorin came second and third in the latest ranking released on Monday. Bamitele Omole, vice chancellor, O.A.U., said it is the first time in the history of higher education in the country that a university “would maintain its position as the first and the best in the country for more than four consecutive times.”
“Hard work and dedication to duty of the academic, administrative and technical members of staff, “whose contributions have placed the university far and above more than 100 other universities in Nigeria,” Omole stated.
He adds that the university aims at becoming “the best in Africa and one of the top 10 in the world”.
