An Akure-based preacher, Pastor Tunde Adekunle, on Monday, asked a Customary Court in Akure, Ondo State, to dissolve his 15 year-old marriage to his wife, Agbeke, for alleged violence and ceaseless nagging. Adekunle, founder of Christ Living Church, Owo, Ondo State, said his wife is minded to make life miserable for him. According to the preacher, many of the scars on his body were acquired during fights between the two and branded the woman an impediment to his pastoral calling. He claimed that the wife once attacked him on the pulpit, while preaching, and tore his cloth. The wife, however, denied the allegations, but said she is willing to split from the husband with whom she has four children, but who has continually shirked his responsibility to the family and has been promiscuous. In her ruling, the President of the court, Mrs. Olayinka Falodun, advised the pastor to carry out his responsibilities to children and ordered the parties to come to court with two witnesses each on the next adjourned date of 31 August.
