The intended visit of Zulu monarch, King Goodwill Zwelithini, to Zimbabwe has sparked outrage among the citizens of the country, with many saying he is not welcome in the country. The anti-foreigner attacks in South Africa early this year were believed to have been sparked by Zwelithini’s utterances. Zimbabweans and Nigerians were among foreigners targeted by irate South Africans in the attacks, following the king alleged utterance that foreigners should pack their bags and leave South Africa. Zwelithini is set to visit the Zimbabwean mining town of Gwanda to attend the wedding ceremony of a local businessman and a gospel concert. Organisers of the concert said the king’s entourage had requested that his presence be kept secret for security reasons. Zimbabweans took to Facebook after the announcement of his proposed visit to express their disapproval. Some, however, were not opposed to the visit.
